Beer and Fishsticks Night

From Louisville Punk/Hardcore History

Beer and Fishsticks Night was invented by Nick O'Brien in 2000, after a breif conversation with Justin Maple about how each of them did not have to work on Friday. At the time, Justin was working at the Hurstborne Lane Kinko's and Nick was working at Swope Honda. The discussion started with Mickey's Malt Liquor and how great it is, and soon after it was decided that fishsticks were great as well. Louisville has never been the same. Not ever. From that discussion on, every Thursday night (once at ten, now at eight) was the official weekly gathering of the almighty CPC. At first, Beer and Fishsticks was held in the apartment of Nick O'Brien and Kurt Ehnle in Hikes Point. Here it stayed for a year, until it moved up (Jefferson's style) to the house Nick bought in the highlands. It was dubbed the Pantheon by Kurt. For a while, beer and fishsticks was attended only by O'Brien, and CPC member for life Justin Gordinas. They went on several drunken bikerides to save Beer and Fishsticks, and they succeded. That's Right. Beer and Fishsticks is now alive and well, and happens every Thursday at eight, inside the glorious walls of the Pantheon. If you don't know where it is, you are a jerk.

Highlights:

Kurt, on occasion, stays at home so the legendary Captain Horsadoo can show up.

Action packed wrestling.

Arcade game.

Trevor Brock once stripped naked and stood on his head on the front steps of a public school, after he peed on the front door of the school.

Justin Gordinas introduces the strut, and later becomes the first person in world history to strut in a cave, on one of the CPC's famous outings to Cave City, KY.
