Loud, abrasive punk/hardcore in the vein of Discharge meets Motorhead.
"Not content with only one salient, uncompromising hardcore band, BLACK CROSS guitarist RYAN PATTERSON grabbed his guitar and a microphone and formed Louisville Kentucky's newest powerhouse punk outfit, COLISEUM. Taking on vocal and guitar duties himself, Ryan recruited an assortment of friends, family and Louisville hardcore mainstays to complete the lineup. Taking a different, if not altogether dissimilar route from BLACK CROSS's DC-hardcore-meets-noise-rock approach, COLISEUM draws its primary influence from early '80s British punk rock a la Discharge GBH, and Motörhead."

Coliseum was one of the cornerstone bands of the '[[Maximum Louisville]]' era. Starting with the stripped down punk with D-Beat overtones band mentioned in the above quote, they matured over multiple records to maintain a ferocity while blending it with an almost... pop level of competency when crafting and incorporating catchy hooks and grooves past the core driving powercord progressions. They played multiple national tours and more than a few international tours between their start in 2004 and somewhat silently hanging it up in 2015. After having sat on songs for 8+ years and feeling invigorated, Ryan once again teamed up in 2023 to record and prepare the 'Infinity Shit' record in near secrecy. When the album was released on a limited 7" by Equal Vision under the almost psudeonym C.L.S.M., few saw it coming. Well received, the record saw an immediate sell out quickly followed by a release of additional vinyl colors and followed several months later by a full digital streaming release. As a follow up to the records release, Coliseum/C.L.S.M. set up two reunion shows at [[Planet of the Tapes]] scheduled for April 20th and 21st, 2024, with the first show selling out immediately and the second show not far behind.
