Dean Thomas

From Louisville Punk/Hardcore History

Dean was attending the Louisville School of Art in Anchorage, KY when he founded No Fun with Tony Pinotti and Bruce Witsiepe. No Fun played a number of shows in Louisville, most notably at Robert Nedelkoff's barn and The Vogue Theatre and it is believed that they did some recordings.

Dean moved to NYC with No Fun in 1978 but they only lasted a few months. Dean joined a Rockabilly group called "Levi And The Rockats" that same year and moved to Los Angeles soon after. Levi And The Rockats performed on "The Merv Griffin Show" and "Midnight Special" in 1979 but Dean left the group soon after.

Dean continued in different groups in Philadelphia, San Francisco and then back to Los Angeles in 1993, where he resided today.
