Lexicon:Split

From Louisville Punk/Hardcore History

When two or more bands appear on the same record. (It can also be a CD.) Usually one band is on one side and another band is on the other side. For example the Ink & Dagger / Le Shok split 7² on Initial Records. There are some variations of the split however. For example the Boy Sets Fire / Snapcase split on Equal Vision Records where on the vinyl version each band actually gets their own record. Another variation is a three band split such as the Sense Field, Jimmy Eat World and Mineral three way split released on Crank! a few years back. Of course the variations are as limitless as the imagination but those are the basic ideas behind it.
