Chad and I would have insanely viscious arguments that would normally be followed ten minutes later by Chad saying something like "You wanna go get a pizza"?, while I was still fucking pissed. I usually went ahead and got that pizza with him and the argument would be completely forgotten. Real charismatic dude. Russ P. once commented that Chad should have been a lawyer. He's right. That guy could take the most ridiculous stance on an issue and five minutes later you'd be like "Holy Shit dude, you're right!" Highly intelligent, very talented, and carried the burden of more demons than anyone I've ever known. He killed himself the exact same way his girlfriend killed herself a year before. And that was just the final straw. That is serious heaviness. Lots of folks hated him with justification, but his friends will always remember him with a powerful love. Even after he kicked some of us in the head over some stupid bullshit. If he could have hung on a couple more years, he'd be ruling the world. His garage punk vision was just a few years too early. I was hearing records around '99-'00 that were like, "Oh, yeah, I heard this record, OUT. made it in '96." I really miss him. He kept me honest and was a great sounding board for ideas in addition to being an eternal eight year old at heart. He was, to use the words from his own final message to the world, too much.
