The Zoo Directors

From Louisville Punk/Hardcore History

The Zoo Directors was a brief, melody-driven interlude project for Tim and Tara after the demise of the Babylon Dance Band and before they moved to New York and founded Antietam. The name of the band derived from the fact that at the time Janet's father was the Director of the Louisville Zoo. They never did any studio recording and no live tapes exist that I know of. Their set-worth of songs apparently vanished into the ether. Their height of fame was that they opened for a Chronic Town-era REM at the original The Beat Club and having made friends with those boys got an on-stage dedication. I just remember them as being a little bit of a let-down, though that's probably because at the time I was more interested in hearing screaming vocals and screeching guitars.
