Self Destruct was a record label instrumental in building the Louisville music scene of the late 80s/early 1990s. History sometimes puts the label in the shadow of [[Slamdek]], but SD represented a dirtier, gritter side of the hardcore scene in contrast to Slamdek's usually cleaner, slicker bands and releases.
