Six Mile Island was formed in 1998, founded by Billy Halter, after he parted ways with Enkindel, and Jeff Roos who had relocated to Louisville from Chicago after leaving the band Breakeven. The two soon teamed up with former Blangk guitarist John Ising, and Kill for Kim bassist Garrett Petters. The band played several shows, and recorded eight songs during two different recording sessions. The band dissolved right when they were beginning to take off after Jeff Roos was forced to move back to Chicago due to personal reasons. There has been talk about the songs being released on a CD sometime in 2006 on a new, and as yet unnamed, Louisville record label.
