Jamie Miller is a longtime participant in Louisville's underground scene, attending his first show in 1987 (Spot in someone's basement) and becoming part of The Triumvirate, often seen in the front at Kinghorse shows. Although he left for college in Memphis from 1989-1994, he helped co-found Abrupt along with Stan Baker, Danny Maron and Bill Terry, and also started his zine Time Bomb.
Upon returning to Louisville in 1994 Jamie produced another issue of Time Bomb and started a new music-oriented zine called Highlands Lowlife. Around that time he met Liz Palmer and shortly thereafter began working with her on Brat Magazine. While working at WHAS-11 he found time to create The Show Of Shows with the station's editing equipment and also started an underground bookstore called Verbivore.
By 1999 all of these projects were more or less dead, and Jamie (along with Liz) was focusing on the creation of The Brycc House. As the center flourished, Jamie found time to start a band, Internecine, which more or less lived up to its own name.
Jamie quit as director of The Brycc House in 2002 and used the ensuing free time to get a master's degree and become an English teacher. It was at this time that he founded Desultory with Austin. He continued to stay somewhat involved with the Brycc project right through its name change and reopening in 2005.
As of April 2006, he is no longer involved with The Brick House or WXBH, the Brick House radio station.
