From HeartAttack #20:
TRANE • Suppository For The White Oppressor 7” Oh boy... To be honest this isn’t really my cup o’ tea, and I pride myself on having a varied taste in music. Average punk rock, mid paced and angry. Now I’m not saying the band isn’t tight or the recording sucks but compared to the some other stuff I’ve reviewed it seems kind of weak. But remember, punk isn’t just about the music it’s about the message. They did an excellent job on the packaging and layout of the record. Tons of eye-catching pictures and loads of information to be read. A valiant effort with the right ideas. CF (Ancient Order of Assassins Louisville Chapter/xxxx Sherwood Ave./Louisville, KY 40205)
From Maximum Rock 'N Roll 182:
TRANE - “A Suppository For The White Oppressor” EP - Most powerful when the grooving verses twist into an themic choruses sounding a little like early FUGAZI met up with AVAIL and CRIMPSHRINE. The production is rough, but it adds a gritty, just out of the garage, punk feel. For the most, part a really good record with inspired lyrics and a political booklet. My problem is with the track ‘Soupy Song”. All of the other songs on this record are lyrically very clear and to-the-point. Most of their ideas on politics seem fairly fleshed-out. But this song confused me and with lyrics like: “I don’t want to think with my brains...I want to think with my dick”. I wasn’t sure if they were making a statement against misogyny or they’re just a bunch of fucking sexist assholes. (MK) (Ancient Order of Assassins, xxxx Sherwood Ave, Louisville, KY 40205)
