Somewhat towards the end of the band, there was a show at [[Aslan's How]] which ended up with [[Big Jim]] playing bass instead of Mike (who wasn't happy about it at all)... and (as became very frequent towards the end), [[Bigtime]] couldn't physically last the entire set, handing the mic over to the "official" 3 Nails backup lungs... [[Dylan Smithers]] and [[Josh Raff]], who damn near peed their pants with glee. 3 Nails, at the time, was far and way their favorite band, and went to every show, tried to hang out with them (which annoyed/pissed off everyone in 3 nails it seemed), and learned how to play all the songs. They were on cloud 9 for a month. - [[Bryan Volz]] |

I was going to try out for this band once (after CJ was kicked out), and I was the only person to show up for practice. I sat in The Brycc House for two hours waiting, as there was a committee meeting going on and I didn't have anyone's phone numbers.
Another time, they were supposed to go to Michigan to play Dead Horse Fest with Redhanded, and didn't show up or tell anyone at the fest (or us) that they weren't playing - Bryan Volz
I never knew you were supposed to try out ot be in 3 nails. And the deadhorsefest incident was becuase I had a fraggin kidney stone! I told Jon the day before because I was hoping to pass it, Ella said she emailed the girl putting on the fest and let them know the situation. - Mike Giralico
She must have dropped the ball because no one ever told the girls running the fest (one of their first words to us was "Is Three Nails not with you all?" and no one notified us until Dylan called Jim - after we were already on the road (as neither Ella hadn't returned my calls or emails and neither had Biggie). Anyway, that doesn't matter - funny story time:
After SHP's demise, and before The Rig picked up Mike and Bigtime, I was going to try to play guitar for the band they were trying to form - Jacknife Powerbomb (regardless that there was already a band with that name - we didn't know it though). And also regardless of the fact that I didn't have a clue how to play guitar or have equipment. Biggie and Mike came over to my parent's house one evening, and we all pretty much just sat there staring at each other. Finally to break the silence, a trip to Fazoli's was proposed, and everyone quickly agreed and made our way to Hikes Point to feast. Well... I was talking to Bigtime and not paying attention when turning around, and Mike G.'s feast ended up all over his brand new outfit.. new track suit, new shoes, new t-shirt.. the whole shebang. Biggie tried to hold back laughter, as did I as I tried to help clean up, only to get several disparaging comments, and not hearing a word out of Mike's mouth towards me for more than 3 months afterward. So, I figured that the band was going to go on without any service I could have attempted to provide. Hah! - Bryan Volz
