Vegan (Veganism) is a lifestyle choice that is devoted to the idea that animals are our companions on this planet, and not just our playthings. Veganism supports an ethic and belief system that abhors things such as animal testing, eating meat, and buying/using items with contents made from the slaughter/torture of animals.
