Audobon Skatepark was located in the back of a skateshop (Skateboards Unlimited) on Preston Highway near the fairgrounds. Nestled between train tracks, busy Preston, and I-65, it was a good place to have shows without getting shut down for noise complaints.
Achieved status as a weird historical footnote when Melinda Loveless took in a punk show there in 1992 in the hours before she and friends ended up abducting, beating, raping and eventually burning 12-year-old Shanda Sharer.
Skateboards Unlimited move around a little bit before closing in the 90s, but a piece of it's legacy lives on with Home Skate Shop
