The Lowdown Bigshots were a four piece Rockabilly/Psychobilly band from Louisville ... the first known act of this genere in the town since the 1950's and the most prominent by default.
Their sound was agressive with a punk rock fuel to it and lots of distorted guitar however obvious heavy rockabilly influence and twang, along with powerful stage theatrics typical of the European Psychobilly Scene.
They primarily played from 1998-1999 and played moreso out of town in Bloomington and Lexington, however they also played punk shows in Louisville, along with playing with other large 'billy scene acts , including the Blue Moon Boys, Crown Electric, Twistin Tarantulas, Legendary Shack Shakers, etc. The band got great reviews in serveral zine's and in Leo, they were also part of the first show in Louisville sponsored by Jim Beam, and mentioned as a definate 'band to see' by WLRS.
