"KFK was the first "serious" band I ever did. It pulled influences from all aspects of music, Primus, Helmet, Biohazard, Public Enemy, Death, to name a few. The line up consisted of four members, Shane Ellis on guitars, Mr. Chad Cooper did bass, Jason Burdon, one of the most incredible drummers I've ever played with, And me, Chris Payne, guitars and vocals.(yeah, I used to try and sing a little!) It was a really good time. First experience with playing out and sharing our point of view with others in the local scene. I think that the first band is always a really important step in helping one figiure themselves out musically. "Getting your feet wet"if you will. Unfortunatly in this process we lost two members and replaced them with one. Garrett took over on bass (Garrett, I love you man!)" [The band became a 3-piece(Chris,Garrett, and Jason) for the last few shows.]
