Included among their ranks are vocalist/guitarist Stephen George (THE NATIONAL ACROBAT, original member of LORDS), vocalist/guitarist Billy Bisig (final bassist of ELLIOTT, original member of LORDS), bassist Connor Bell (PARLOUR, SHEDDING) and drummer Will Hancock, who also recorded the album. Another suitably classic notch in Louisville’s well-worn indie rock belt, WOLVERINE BRASS follows the lineage of hometown forefathers like SLINT, BASTRO, and RODAN while channeling the spirit of the early 90’s influence via UNWOUND, SONIC YOUTH and NIRVANA. No strangers to an aggressive guitar riff, the band also sews the seams of head-bobbing guitar noise/rock and the hypnotic moments between notes. Yet, unlike many of their contemporaries, WOLVERINE BRASS never loses sight of the ultimate goal – great songwriting. Over the course of its 30 minutes Wicked Witch features seven incredibly memorable songs, never delves into self-serving pretension, and wraps things up long before its welcome is overstayed. Auxiliary Records is proud to present its first full-length release, Wicked Witch, from Louisville’s WOLVERINE BRASS. All seasoned vets of Louisville’s indie music scene, the members of WOLVERINE BRASS so impressed us at their earliest shows that we knew we had to share their music with the world as soon as possible. We love it and we think you will too.
