Peculate is the progressive metal project of composer and multi-instrumentalist Ben Norton. It combines punk, metal, djent, jazz, contemporary classical, avant-garde, electronic, and experimental music together to create progressive music with punk sensibilities.
Ben, a committed activist, dissident, anti-imperialist, anti-racist, feminist, and atheist, writes all the lyrics about politics and economics and, in true hardcore style, subversion.
Ben began Peculate in his hometown of Louisville, but now lives in Lexington, where he still continues trying to subvert the dominant paradigm, one note at a time.
