Too metal for most of Louisville's hardcore kids, but just hardcore enough for the rest of the world. They hardly got any respect in town, but headlined 15,000 person stadiums in Europe! They were initially active from 1994 - 2004, releasing several albums and being signed to the major metal label Century Media.

My Own Victim initially disbanded in 2004. Their last show would be on June 25 2004 at Headliners. Omer would leave the band in July to which MOV would officially disband in August 2004. Omer would start Stonecutters in early 2005.

My Own Victim has reunited on several occasions. The first would be on November 2006 at St. Andrews Pub. The next was with several other South End louisville bands in December 2010 at Headliners, featuring Sailor on vocals. A couple subsequent reunions followed with the Hillerich lineup in 2011 at Union Station and then 2017 at Trixie's. The Sailor lineup reunited a second time at Trixie's in 2018.
