The Parking Lot was a big hangout for hardcore and punk scenesters during the late 80s/early 90s. Frequented by scenesters, it was the place to be when not hanging out around the Vogue theatre parkinglot waiting for Rocky Horror to start. No, this parking lot is located on Bardstown Road right across from the fire station and Deer Park Church.

the hangout was shut down (mostly) by one of the Louisville Police Department's finest, Officer Reed (the partial subject of a great song about the 'lot). He claimed that the kids were causing a ruckus, and that the church who owned the lot wanted the kids gone. Knowing that the church encouraged the kids to hang out there (as they could be off doing coke or somethin instead), only made it harder to give up, but in the end, the police harassment was far too much.

It was partially ressurected in 2004 by parts of the Maximum Kickball crew. May the 'lot never die!
