Shame
I’m riding on the glory
of someone else’s dream
feeling their pain
I’m living their joy
no dreams of my own
It’s a nightmare to me
to see what they see
I’m living by captive decree
Cos now I’ve bound my hands I can’t touch what’s out of reach
now that I can see the dagger
the dagger that’s hid in your speech
I’m riding as a passenger on some one else’s road
with stolen gasoline
and a conscience, that won’t come clean anymore
we approach the dead end
so you accelerate
embracing me like a friend
It is my, is my untimely fate
I am the crow
that’s riding on the wind I may never know
just how, just how to mend
the torn wings and feathers
that tie me to the ground
I don’t know how to use my wings
so my life, my life may never be found
