1135 S. 7th Street Showspace

From Louisville Punk/Hardcore History
Revision as of 23:37, 21 March 2014 by JeffMoore (talk | contribs) (minor updates)

1135 sits like a vagrant on a huge open lot on the property of St.Bertrand's Catholic Church. Across the street is a steel yard and The Club Sound of Music. In summer of 2005, the renters at the 1135 figured that since there weren't any neighbors within 500 feet, that meant that they should start having shows at their house.

In addition to hosting Lucky Pineapple, J. Glenn, Matt Mattingly, Los Gatos Negros, Second Story Man, Venus Trap, and New Thrill Parade, the 1135 also hosts art shows.

The 1135 focused on all ages shows and only excepted donations for hosting events. The only major let down is the size of the space and the lack of air conditioning/heating.

1135 is not sure if it will be there after fall of 2006. They may finally sell the place.
