Hardcore Skateshop
From Louisville Punk/Hardcore History
Located on Fairmeade Rd. in St. Matthews, this was a nice little shop that was frequented by many kids of the area during 95-98. Being almost right on Shelbyville Road and near Trinity and Waggener High Schools allowed easy access for kids getting off school that wanted to skate and hang out and easy Tarc access to skatespots. The shop went out of business when the owners, Dave and ____, were having problems with break-ins and vandalism (possibly by skaters that hung out at rival shops), having to cover other jobs, and normal competition from the other 3-4 skate shops that were in town at the time.
Regular annoyances around the store:
- Deaf Dave
- Clint
- Phil Stosberg
- Brent Erwin
- Jon Broster
- Telly
- Bryan Volz
- many more....
