Dupont Dennys

From Louisville Punk/Hardcore History

Dupont Dennys used to be the punk rock place to be in the mid/late 90s... before it was remodeled, when it still had a full bar in the back, when Village 8 theatre still showed 2nd run movies for $1, and when Primizee's was in full swing. Pretty much any given night of the week, you could find someone from Charisma Society, The Vagrants, The Revenants or any number of their friends up there, taking up the smoking section in the main room and making either a mess or a ruckus. Many of us were kicked out, only to come back later that night. Countless phone calls were placed using the 1-800-Airwalk scam at the payphone.

After the remodeling, you could still find Spectre up there frequently, but everyone else kind of faded away from Denny's fatigue. It didn't help that they put in place a rule that you had to at least buy a drink to hang out there (only if you were punk.. others got away with it all the time). Around 2004, Straight Edge Sundays were held there in conjunction with Eastern Parkway Dennys.
