OUT. was formed by Rhode Island native Chad Donnelly and Louisvillian Dave Bird in late 1994 after Chad's move to Louisville. After many months of searching the band was completed with the addition of Tony Bailey on bass and Russ Pollard on drums. This lineup quickly made a name for themselves through a series of chaotic shows in and out of town. OUT. had self released a five song cassette demo that had been well received, so with considerable momentum behind them the band entered Melody Hill Farms Recording Studio on Derby Day 1996 to record their debut album. Chad and Dave set about searching for a new rhythm section, a task that took them from Louisville to Richmond, VA and back.
