The Skull of Glee, which existed in various forms for a year or so, played three cover songs, each song once. They were: Link Wray's "Rumble" and Mr. Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" (both at the band's last formal performance, Thanksgiving 1982 at The Beat with The Gun Club) and this one, a rendition of The Endtable's "Trick Or Treat". Rumble was not a ridiculous idea, Johnny was knowingly ridiculous (Mr. O'Bannon just wanted to play the guitar parts once before jumping off of a roof), and you can judge this Halloween anthem for yourself. This seems to be the stripped-down version of the group: Rigot, O'Bannon, Smith, and Dumstorf - although one can clearly hear Miss Janet leading the audience in the "Skull Of Glee Chant" before the song begins... Under-aged drinking was apparently not only allowed at The Beat, but encouraged... The footage includes the usual Glee shots, and a homage to late-night Horror Movie Hosts....the editing should have been tighter, but, hell, I can't afford to spend all day at the computer...dedicated to Mr. Sorrels, who knows way more about Ghoulardi than I ever will.... I include this antique nugget among my uploads simply to prove to La Rigot that it actually ever happened...
