The Slow Suicide's origins began in the early Summer months of 2000 when [[Stan Doll]] and [[Chris Owens]] began jamming together after the demise of both their former bands. The two practiced religiously for months, but searched in vain for members who could keep up. Finally in Spring 2001, The Slow Suicide was officially born as they began playing out with what they believed to be a stable lineup. The band returned to the shelf following the departure of vocalist [[Kevin Sachs]] to California later that Summer. Over the course of several months the band would be reduced back to the original components of Stan and Chris. Finally in the early months of 2002, The Slow Suicide was reborn when the lineup was finalized with the addition of [[Jon Ashley]] on vocals and [[Andy Garrett]] on bass and this version of the band went on to play frequent shows both locally and out of town. The Slow Suicide set about recording their debut CD in the Spring/Summer of 2003. The CD was close to completion when Jon quit the band leading to the end of The Slow Suicide. The two practiced religiously for months, but searched in vain for members who could keep up. Finally in Spring 2001, The Slow Suicide was officially born as they began playing out with what they believed to be a stable lineup. The band returned to the shelf following the departure of vocalist Kevin Sachs to California later that Summer. Over the course of several months the band would be reduced back to the original components of Stan and Chris. Finally in the early months of 2002, The Slow Suicide was reborn when the lineup was finalized with the addition of Jon Ashley on vocals and Andy Garrett on bass and this version of the band went on to play frequent shows both locally and out of town. The Slow Suicide set about recording their debut CD in the Spring/Summer of 2003. The CD was close to completion when Jon quit the band leading to the end of The Slow Suicide.
