1481 S Shelby St, Louisville, KY 40217

Previously known as Club 21 and The Pour House. The building itself was founded in 1887 as a package/grocery store, and bar, and has had many different names through the years.

The Cure Lounge was at the corner of Shelby and Burnett in Schnitzelburg, in the same space as The Pour House and some other sometimes/sometimes not venues. So named for the Robert Smith fronted band, The Cure Lounge has leaned into that image of the outcast or loner, a hub for fringe culture, including music, burlesque, live arm wrestling events and karaoke, all in the heart of the Germantown.

The venue saw a number of shows including LDB Fest in the spring of 2017 among other events. Midwest Blood Fest was also hosted at the event on one occasion. At least one ediition of PRF BBQ Louisville was hosted there. Elliott Turton was for a time the main booker and soundman at The Cure though others would fill in. Duncan Cherry and Floyd Freels were also involved with The Cure.

In April 2018 it would be announced that The Cure Lounge would be closing on May 18 2018 due to a lease dispute. The last known show at the Cure was on May 10 featuring Shi along with touring bands Sierra and Irata. It would re-open as 21st in Germantown, a prohibition themed bar leaning heavily into the Bourbon Trail and heavy metal crowd.
