Nelligan Hall is located in Louisville's Historic Portland Neighborhood at 2010 Portland Avenue, one block east of the I-64 22nd Street exit (also directly adjacent to the Falls of the Ohio and Shippingport Island). The old North End Social Club is owned by artists Aron Conaway, Hallie Jones, who after 4 years of partial ownership, have bought our their partners, are repairing & transforming this historic social hall into an artists' collective space.

In the 1930's the hall served as the local center of the Democratic Party in the machine politics era. It also served as a meeting place for the local neighbors. In the early 20th century, it was a theater building and hosted Vaudeville Shows.

"Nelligan Hall, a relic of Portlands' Irish past. Louisville had as much or more Irish immigration as German and this was one of the three historical Irish neighborhoods."

The first show booked there was booked by Scott Carney November 4, 2005 with Scott Carney and the Heavy Friends, The Slow Break, and The Dirty Faces. In 2013, Nelligan would begin a curated series known as the CHIME series, featuring four bands and one visual artist each month. Nelligan would host shows up until 2015, with rare exceptions.
