The New Vintage

From Louisville Punk/Hardcore History

2126 South Preston Street, Louisville, KY 40204

Formerly Uncle Pleasant's, The New Vintage would function in similar fashion to the original dive bar incarnation just with cleaner bathrooms, lounge seating in the back and, well, a lot more RED. The space tried to balance between hosting locals and touring bands alike, along with booking by Holy Carp.

Notably, the space hosted a few release shows for Gubbey Records along with other local labels. The New Vintage also hosted Louisville Outskirts Festival, Seven Sense Festival and PRF BBQ Louisville. Hunter Embry owned the space and promoted several shows (including Seven Sense) after the closing of Zazoo's in 2013.

In December 2016 it would be announced that The New Vintage would be closing, hosting the following final shows in January 2017:

  • Thursday, January 26 – Marbin, Lazy Sunday, Hot Brown Smackdown (9 p.m., $10 advance, $12 day of show).
  • Friday, January 27 – The Dammit, Appalatin, Alex Wright, Misty Mountain String Band, The Carmonas (9 p.m., free).
  • Saturday, January 28 – Discount Guns, RAMBLE, Adventure, Good People (8 p.m., free).
  • Sunday, early show, January 29 – Kid Plastic, a Radiohead tribute, and Brutally Handsome, an Eagles tribute (7 p.m., $10).
  • Sunday, late show, January 29 – Planetary Overdrive, John Clay Band (9 p.m., free).
  • Monday, January 30 – That 1 Guy, with his Magic Pipe (9 p.m., $10 advance, $15 at door).
